Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Corporate Services Department, Research Corporation of the University of Hawai?i (RCUH) core staff, located in Honolulu, Hawai?i. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.

MONTHLY SALARY RANGE: $5,800 - $6,800/Mon.

DUTIES: Collaborates with core staff to gather information, identify communication needs, and develop key messaging content for target audiences. Reviews external communications before release. Designs a variety of marketing and training materials including, but not limited to annual reports, flyers, brochures, event programs, etc. Manages and maintains RCUH's digital communication channels, including the website, social media platform, and email campaigns, to ensure consistent branding and impactful messaging. Manages all requests for information and maintains the Uniform Information Practices Act (UIPA) Record Request Log. Develops and executes planning for internal and public events, such as site visits, webinars, seminars, conferences, meetings, luncheons, forums, and focus groups, including assisting with selection of subject matter experts; coordinating logistics and catering; soliciting bids, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor relationships; envisioning creative elements (e.g., decorations, favors, etc.); managing guest lists; and ensuring a seamless experience for attendees. Manages event setup, breakdown, and clean-up operations. Drives to offsite events as needed. Gathers, analyzes, and reports on data that evaluates training, public events, and other initiatives supported by RCUH; applies lessons learned to future events. Develops and refines internal procedures to guide future events. Collaborates with other departments to ensure smooth coordination and execution of projects. Executes various projects and initiatives for the Executive Office and Corporate Services Department, which may include training course development, annual report development, external/internal surveys, etc. Assists with finding efficiencies and documenting procedures in internal operations.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

Bachelors Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Business, Communications, English, Graphic Design, Learning Design and Technology, Journalism or a related field of study that provides skills and training necessary to perform major functions and duties of the job.

EXPERIENCE

Five to seven (5-7) years of experience in communications/marketing, project management, graphic design, and event planning. Includes experience with creative design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Canva).

KNOWLEDGE

Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat/Pro, WordPress, Google Forms, and Mailchimp. Strong knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations regarding accessibility standards. Knowledge of basic social media standards.

ABILITIES and SKILLS

Must have a positive attitude, demonstrated customer service performance, and excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Must have a strong command of English grammar and demonstrated ability to proof and edit material. Must have strong graphic design skills. Must be detail-oriented with a strong ability to multi-task, plan, organize, and coordinate daily activities in a fast-paced ork environment; learn quickly; produce work that meets high professional and quality standards; work well with people from diverse fields and backgrounds; and adhere to RCUH Statement of Values. Must have excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Self-starter who demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness, flexibility and creativity, and can exercise professional and administrative authority, sound judgment, and ethical conduct. Committed to protecting sensitive data and maintaining confidentiality. Has a strong digital literacy and is proficient in using various technology tools. Must possess a valid drivers license (and if use of personal vehicle on the job is required, must also have valid personal drivers insurance equivalent to Hawaiis No-Fault Drivers Insurance) and maintain throughout the duration of employment. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check for working with highly confidential and sensitive information which includes being fingerprinted and having a federal background check performed. Must be able to complete the UH Title IX training within twelve (12) months from date of hire, and re-certify every two (2) years.
