Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.

Comprehensive Urgent Care at this clinic provides diagnosis and treatment of non-life threatening illness and injury for adults, adolescents, children, and infants. This Ward Clinic features Team Based Primary Care led by Internal Medicine and Family Practice providers to consistently manage the overall health care needs for patients of all ages. On-site, walk-in, laboratory and X-ray imaging bring sophisticated diagnostic services to this area. Supported by the most advanced electronic medical record system the clinic’s team leverages the MyChart patient portal which engages patients to connect with their doctor and care team, manage their health, optimize their appointments, and help family member track their health.

As a Clinic Aide, you will form part of the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff that provide caring, thorough health services to our patients and their families. In this role, you will gain valuable first-hand clinical operations and health care experience while performing a wide variety tasks ranging from monitoring supplies to administering health care to patients of all ages to supporting departmental staff. We are looking for someone diligent and motivated, who enjoys learning in a fast-paced clinical environment, and shares our commitment to creating a healthier Hawai‘i.

Minimum Qualifications: Nurse aide or medical assistant certificate showing successful completion of courses for a nurse assistant or medical assistant training program; completion of a fundamentals course from an accredited school of Nursing (name of nursing school and completion of fundamentals course); Military Corpsman certificate; EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or MICT (Mobile Intensive Care Technician) certificate; A Registered Nurse/Medical Doctor license or graduate certificate from a college in a foreign country. Current American Heart Association Heart Saver-AED card.

Preferred Qualifications: Completion of medical terminology course.
