ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

  • Provide [3 days] full days per week of clinical daytime coverage, ambulatory patient care, research patient follow-up care, and infusion center support as needed, as an independent practitioner or in support of UH Cancer Center faculty physicians at the following locations:

a. Hawaii Pacific Health: Women's Adult Cancer Center (WACC) b. Hawaii Pacific Health: Pali Momi Medical Center c. Hawaii Pacific Health: Straub Medical Center d. Queen's Medical Center

  • Provide 2days per week of administrative (0.5 days) and research (1.5days) focus work through the University of Hawaii Cancer Center.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of quality care for patients with cancer.
  • Participate in tumor boards at hospitals throughout the Hawai'i Cancer Consortium, both general and breast cancer-focused.
  • Adhere to all medical staff guidelines applicable to your practice location.
  • Acquireand maintain a license to practice medicine in Hawai'i in good standing.
  • Other duties as required and directed by the UHCC Director.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Complies with all legal requirements and company policies.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education/Training, Experience andSkills Knowledge

Minimum:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or University.
  • Must possess a State of Hawaii APRN license.
  • Must complete Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Human Subject training within three (3) months from the hire date.
  • Two years experience functioning in an APRN capacity.
  • Twoyears experience in a related clinical specialty (e.g., oncology).
  • Clinical trial experience in oncology.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in human subjects' research and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training.
  • Understanding of research study designs and ethics.
  • Knowledge of and experience with computers and software programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Specialized knowledge of clinical trial protocols grouped from a specific National Cancer Institute (NCI) research base, other sources, or by disease site, etc.
  • Specialized knowledge of specific cancer care sites conducting clinical trials and/or job areas, such as education/training, regulatory, investigational drug accountability/storage, specimen collection/processing, database maintenance/reporting, and auditing.
  • Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and thorough.
  • Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC), or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP).
  • Working knowledge of the University of Hawaii, the Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii (RCUH), and UHCC policies and procedures.
