Description

If you're interested in becoming a critical part of an innovative Telecom Services company, you might be the full-time Staff Accountant Robert Half Finance is looking for. You will succeed in this Staff Accountant position if you can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. If you can perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes, you might be a good fit for this role. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Honolulu, Hawaii area, at a company where effort is rewarded. This is a position you will thrive in, if you are a detail-oriented and analytical thinker with a talent for creating Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

  • Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Take part in various department-wide initiatives

  • Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

  • Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries

  • Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

  • Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision

  • Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting

  • Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

  • Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

Requirements

  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • Efficient in ERP systems

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Bank Account Reconciliation experience

  • Experience with Credit Card Reconciliation

  • Adeptness in Expense Reconciliation

  • Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Bank reconciliations experience

  • Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience
