Key Tasks and Responsibilities for Welders:

  • Responsible for setting appropriate welding machine parameters for the material being welded.
  • Responsible for making welds to meetprintspecifications.
  • Responsible for producing strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous, and consistent.
  • Follows required procedures and usesappropriatefixtures to assist in the assembly process.
  • The basic operation of the robotic weld cell as assigned.
  • Verifies conformance of finished parts to print specifications and quality standards.
  • Responsible for properly using and maintaining tools, fixtures, and machines.

Experience and Skills Needed for Welders:

  • 3+ years of welding experience is a must!
  • Ability to weld vertical, flat, and overhead with a good penetration and a quality weld.
  • Ability to operate acetylene torches.
  • Math skills including metric system and angles.
  • Ability to read tape measures and angle finders.
  • Ability to read blueprint drawings and AWS weld symbols.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Physical ability to weld in awkward positions such as kneeling or lying down.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
