Senior Visual Designer

Location: This role can be virtually connected or in-office

Position Summary:

As a Senior Visual Designer on the digital experience team, you will be charged with setting design direction, creating unique UI, and helping to define and execute our brand to build a consistent user experience across our web ecosystem and touchpoints.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in creating visually appealing and user-friendly experiences while crafting a strong visual language and design system. You should be comfortable working with Digital Experience leaders, UX Designers, researchers, and other stakeholders to bring the team vision to life and drive success through compelling solutions. You should know how good design works, be in touch with market trends, and be able to communicate your thoughts using simple, clean, and engaging methods.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate daily with the design team and other cross-functional teams to create and understand business and design needs and translate them into visually appealing and practical designs that meet user needs.

  • Be a core stakeholder in developing Bentley’s digital visual language and journey for Bentley’s eco-system.

  • Be a champion and influence for quality design and best practices with stakeholders.

  • Effectively translate brand guidelines into a design system and style guides to ensure consistency and scalability.

  • Leverage UX research to deliver wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs that effectively communicate design concepts to internal leaders, partners, and customers.

  • Facilitate design workshops and collaborative sessions to discover problems, define objectives, and refine product requirements that lead to solutions.

  • Connect the dots between business requirements, innovation, analytics, and good design through the visual representation of ideas.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in design, and continuously evaluate and improve our design process.

  • Mentor and coach junior designers in developing and completing projects and begin to serve as team leader.

What We Need from You:

  • A growing track record designing for cross-platform mobile, responsive web, and desktop experiences.

  • Strong, clean visual style with the ability to demonstrate refined design taste and a solid understanding of visual, motion, and interaction design fundamentals.

  • Excellent design taste and judgment with a proven ability to iterate concepts quickly

  • Knowledge and experience with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles

  • Desire to think as a creative thinker with excellent problem-solving skills while also being detail-oriented and organized.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction design, HCI, related field, or relevant experience.

  • 5+ years’ experience as a visual or UI designer focusing on digital experiences – preferably SaaS or technology-focused companies.

  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, Miro, Prototyping and other tools.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of design projects and the ability to effectively communicate design concepts and solutions.

  • Experience leading design projects and mentoring junior designers

  • Bonus – Functional knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and other coding languages

  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any otherphysical requirements (https://www.bls.gov/ors/factsheet/visual-overview-of-physical-demands.htm) ). The role requires communication with managers, peers, and other company colleagues in person and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling, and meeting functions.

  • This role does not require travel.
