Instructional Developer

Our work depends on Instructional Developers joining our team to support training and career development activities for federal, state, and local government clients of GDIT. The person in this entry level position will assist with the production and execution of virtual learning programs (webinars, web-based training, and virtual conferences), in-person instructor-led training, user guides, blogs, and other career-related resources. Foundational design, development, and facilitation skills are a must.

HOW AN INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

● Designs and develops instructional approaches and interactive courseware to meeting training requirements

  • Participate in developing educational strategies for new and existing instructional content to meet government training needs

  • Attend consultation meetings with clients, subject matter experts and instructional designers to learn requirements and assist in creating innovative training programs and content

  • Create instructional goals/outcomes and conduct research for relevant learning program content

  • Create supporting content including instructor guides, student guides, supplemental training materials such as quick reference guides, web-based training, and other training content, as needed

  • Support learning technology initiatives, including webinars, online courses, and self-paced e-learning

  • Prepare regular program content and messaging (course descriptions, learning objectives, outreach emails, etc.)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in instructional technology, e-learning, instructional design, or related field

● Required Experience: 2+ years of related experience

● Required Technical Skills: Instructional Design, Writing, and Facilitation skills are a must

● Security Clearance Level: Customs and Border Protection Suitability Background Investigation required prior to employment start date.

● Required Skills and Abilities: Communication, Planning, and Problem Solving

● Location: Hybrid in the Washington DC Metro Area

● US Citizenship Required
