Psychiatric APRN River Valley Counseling Center ? 303 Beech Street Holyoke, MA Full Time, 40, varying shifts, 8 Req # 8740 RVCC is looking to hire a Psychiatric Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)! Job Responsibilities: To clinically coordinate client care To communicate regularly with clients, families, physicians and other health care team members to assure continuity of care. To distinguish between normal and abnormal findings and to evaluate what findings need collaboration or referral to appropriate allied professionals or community agencies. To identify crisis situations and respond appropriately To assess substance misuse & history including acute withdrawal symptoms, assess risks of suicide and dangerousness to others and assess clients mental status To promptly reassess needs when warranted by the client?s condition. To review assessment data obtained by other clinical disciplines, including diagnostics. To review individual client treatment plans and clinical documentation periodically to assure that client care requirements are met. To develop a plan of care based on identified needs and problems and to provide follow-up on clients treated, as may be necessary. To initiate and/or complete required documentation in a timely, systematic, accurate form; to include age related assessment of biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, age-specific, and educational factors To participate actively in the quality improvement process and incorporate quality improvement findings into clinical proactive and coordination of client care in the department. To also be involved in any administrative meetings as a representative of the medical staff. To act as a client advocate to ensure that clients/families and significant other\'s needs are incorporated into the plan care. Job Requirements: Education Level - Masters of Science in Nursing Years of Experience - 5+ years as a clinical nurse specialist; experience working with chronically mentally ill populations required, experience or desire to work with pediatric patients Skills/Abilities - Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills; crisis intervention skills; organizational skills; attention to detail; computer skills; good customer relations skills; knowledge of legal and ethical issues pertaining to the profession Licensing - RN licensing, Current DEA Controlled Substance Registration; current Controlled Substance Registration within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; current certification as a Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from the American Nurses Credentialing Certification.
