Our maintenance staff provide timely service to residential and commercial tenants of our sister companies, OneHolyoke Development Corporation Maintenance staff must be proficient in all fields related to the general upkeep and repair of property and buildings. Staff responds promptly to a variety of tenants needs to ensure safety, integrity and habitability of our properties. Well-rounded skills, including carpentry, are necessary. Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities: ? This is a working position; the general maintenance staff will be expected to perform any and all duties relevant to the general maintenance of properties and buildings. ? After-hours service calls are an essential property management duty which is assigned on a rotating basis. Additional compensation, as set by company policy, is provided for after-hours service calls. ? The general maintenance staff deliver high standards of quality in the appearance and maintenance of property and buildings, and will perform their duties in a timely and workmanlike manner. The ability to read and understand written instructions and manuals is an essential function of the position 100%. ? The general maintenance staff are expected to provide a professional standard of communication with tenants, co-workers, third party contractors and the public, that is effective and reflects positively on the company. Communication of issues arising with tenants and others to the Supervisor of Maintenance is an essential function of the job. Not applicable. Hiring Requirements/Preferences Minimum one year of general maintenance experience of residential and commercial properties is required. Basic carpentry skills are required. Experience in specific areas of building structural and mechanical systems, assisting the company in employing a wider range of in-house skills, is always preferred. Adequate communication skills to address the needs of residential tenants and completing company documentation as needed is required. Company properties are scattered sites throughout the City of Holyoke. A valid driver?s license and reliable vehicle are required. Maintenance staff work with their personal tools. Maintenance personnel are required to work in private homes. A CORI free of history involving issues of violence, dishonesty or involvement in drug trafficking is required.
