We are growing our locations and are investing more than $2 billion into establishing a new large-scale manufacturing site for biopharmaceuticals in the United States to accelerate the growth of our Bio CDMO (Contract and Development Manufacturing Organization) business. This will be the largest end-to-end cell culture CDMO provider in North America.

The new site will offer end-to-end solutions to our customers looking to manufacture biopharmaceuticals in the US. In addition to drug substance manufacture, it will also provide automated fill-finish and assembly, packaging, and labeling services. The new site will be built within the vicinity of an existing Fujifilm site in the US. The position will ultimately sit in Holly Springs, NC, U.S.A, once the site is able to accommodate.

Position Purpose

The purpose of this position is to contribute to support clean utilities systems for the FDBH Galaxy project. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: writing/reviewing specifications; design reviews & design qualifications; equipment installation; acceptance testing & system qualification; development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP); development & oversight system/equipment maintenance development; cost, quality & schedule management within area of responsibility; establishing & maintaining positive working relationship with internal & external stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design of the Clean Utility generation and distribution systems across the site. These systems include clean steam, purified water, clean air, nitrogen and other ancillary equipment

  • Development of maintenance procedures and plans for utility systems

  • Equipment specifications, drawings, P&ID's.

  • Layout of the Central Utility Building to ensure efficient operations and maintenance.

  • Configuration of the BMS operations for the utility systems.

  • Ownership for the utility systems

  • Proper maintenance routines are performed on these systems to ensure the highest level of reliability at a reasonable cost.

  • Implementing operational improvement to the utility systems to reduce energy consumption.

  • Direct maintenance technicians or contract personnel in system maintenance or improvements

  • Project Manager (PM) for equipment maintenance or project work

  • Interact with other departments such as DSM, DPFG, metrology, QA

  • Ensure deliverables meet all quality and compliance standards 

  • Proposed changes within work package  

  • Ensure delivery and implementation of solutions which fulfills requirements and expectations by the end users

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with the following background and skill sets:

  • Master‘s or Bachelor’s degree within Physical, Chemical or Biological Science, Technical Engineering or equivalent

  • 10+ years’ experience from similar role in large Pharma/ Biotech projects.

  • Experience from Clean Utility, Central Utility Buildings (CUB’s) etc.

  • Knowledge of early phase equipment design and facility layouts

  • Knowledge with Drug Product (DP) and/or Finish Goods Manufacturing (FGM) and unit operations would be beneficial but not a requirement

  • Collaborative attitude with the willingness to work with global peers toward company and department goals
