This position requires expertise in signing and signing SAP matters, making this person the go-to person for any related inquiries or issues. This position also carries the responsibility of being the chief designer of detour routes for the county and emergency contracts. As a lead trainer in both signing and signing SAP matters, this individual will play a crucial role in imparting knowledge and ensuring that all relevant personnel are well-versed in these subjects.

On the safety side, this position entails a thorough review of all detour plans, with a focus on identifying any necessary corrections. Any issues or concerns discovered during the review process will be effectively communicated to the designers, contractors, and county maintenance team. Additionally, this role will take the lead in conducting scoping field views and will serve as a trainer for the counties and district winter school. There may also be involvement in sight-distance studies, further emphasizing the importance of this position in ensuring safety measures are properly implemented.

This position necessitates exceptional communication skills, both in written and verbal forms. The ability to effectively convey information through various mediums, such as emails, texts, instant messages, letters, and directives, is crucial. Furthermore, strong verbal communication skills are required for phone calls and meetings. Proficiency in utilizing software programs such as Outlook, Microsoft, Sign Cadd, and Open Roads is also expected, as these tools play a vital role in carrying out the responsibilities of these positions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Hollidaysburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Traffic Control Specialist Trainee; or Two years as a Traffic Control Technician; or One year of experience in traffic control work; and a bachelor's degree in mathematics, civil engineering, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Other Requirements: This position requires possession of a current driver's license that is not under suspension. You must meet the PA residency requirement.
