JOB SUMMARY:

Performs cycle counting to verify the accuracy of BAAN inventory records to the actual on-hand inventory. Coordinates and oversees the monthly inventory to ensure the accuracy of the perpetual inventory and the month-end close. Maintains the cycle-counting processes and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs daily cycle counting of all assigned inventory locations. May use lift truck to move materials and order picker to make necessary counts.

  • Analyzes inventory record transaction processes, detects the root cause of inventory record errors, and documents all inventory errors out of tolerance. Provides input to Materials Group for follow up and corrective action.

  • Assists Materials Group in organizing, monitoring, and taking of physical inventories.

  • Maintains cycle counting processes and procedures as prescribed by Magna Sealing and Glass Systems and external accounting practices and policies.

  • Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly inventory record accuracy reports.

  • May initiate, develop, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of inventory record errors.

  • May adjust perpetual inventory records as required by daily cycle counting results.

  • Documents errors committed which will result in an inventory record accuracy of less than 99%.

  • Performs all work in compliance with Magna and Magna Sealing and Glass Systems Health, Safety and environmental policies and procedures as well as all federal, State and local laws; promptly report any hazardous condition or workplace injury to immediate supervisor or EHS designate.

  • May serve as auditor to Accounting to verify accurate inventories to achieve month-end closing.

  • May assist Materials Group with assigned projects; continuous improvement activities, radio frequency training, material handling, new employee orientation, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge and skills as normally obtained through a High School diploma; or equivalent. One or more years experience in material handling, or warehousing preferred.

  • Must have or be able to obtain a lift truck license for sit-down, standup industrial truck (hilo).

  • Must be able to regularly move and lift up to 40lbs in the performance of audits.

  • Ability to work without direct supervision; self motivated.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

  • A working knowledge of the QAD system and other PC and web-based applications (ex. Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.); knowledge in use of hand held scanners or capability to be trained to their use.

  • Demonstrated ability to investigate problems, determine root cause, and select and verify corrective actions.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends as necessary.
