Job Summary:

The role is responsible for leading supplier quality teams to meet the requirements for the engineering, production, and customer in a safe a timely manner. This position is responsible for driving world-class manufacturing performance by developing a talented workforce through planning, coordinating, and executing its manufacturing processes. Part Leader monitors the supplier quality for production performance of lithium-ion battery-related materials/products to ensure accurate, targeted volumes are produced at the highest quality and lowest cost while providing support to LGESMI.

Responsibilities:

  • Results for this position will be measured by internal customer satisfaction and supplier metrics.

  • Drives and supports quality improvement efforts internally and externally.

  • Respond to, and fully support, company plant production by ensuring all supplier parts meet engineering requirements.

  • Responsible for advanced product quality planning, and successful launch of supply base components.

  • Ensures that internal needs for Control Systems are established, communicated, and met in a timely and functional manner at the supply base.

  • Optimizes Process Capability on critical characteristics at the supply base through effective application of statistical analysis techniques and Problem-Solving.

  • Proactively work with suppliers to minimize and/or eliminate launch and ongoing quality/performance issues

Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience in Quality, Engineering, Chemical or equivalent; or a combination of more than 3 years of Manufacturing/ Engineering /Quality/Lab management/Training experience in the Manufacturing industry. Experience with or knowledge of large global supply chains and multiple plants.

  • Knowledge of 8-D’s, Fishbone Diagrams, 5 – Why’s, LSS six sigma, or other problem-solving tools.

  • Strong computer skills: MS Office.

  • Able to work flexible hours as needed to support and work with HQ, and global site

  • Complete daily documentation and audits, as required by the position

  • Maintain 5S and 3R standards

  • Adhere to general, and position-specific, dress code requirements

  • Participate in, and successfully complete, any and all training requirements

Experience

  • Experience and knowledge of Drawing, SOP, Control plan, CTQ, SPC

  • Knowledge of troubleshooting from the quality issues related.

  • A positive, dedicated attitude and demonstrated effectiveness to achieve given goals within due dates

  • The willingness and ability to work flexible hours occasionally to support the team.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to analyse data and prepare reports, statements, and projections

Skills

  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of APQP, inspection equipment and techniques, root cause failure analysis, capability studies, statistical distributions, machine, and assembly processes, problem-solving, PFD/PFMEA/Control Plan, PPAP, 8D/5Why, team facilitation, and geometric dimensioning and tolerance

  • Experience with Global Plant and Supplier Development a plus.

  • Data analysis skills are required.

  • Must be able to excel, PowerPoint, pivot tables, equations, plots for data analysis

  • Experience with report writing in Microsoft Word and graphical analysis in Minitab is strongly preferred.
