Overview:This person supports the DC leadership team and is responsible for assisting in maintaining continuous and productive DC operations within the distribution center. Responsibilities include communication of any concerns to team members and leaders, set up of and transition of shift as well as training responsibilities.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and leading other teammates in different areas of operation to ensure production and safety.

  • Fill in as support to an area where someone may be absent or additional help may be needed for periods of time.

  • Create and promote a safe working environment.

  • Capable of operating and knowing all CDC equipment. Able to identify technical issues and communicate to your supervisor or appropriate department.

  • Be supportive of teammates to assist in problems. Communicate all issues with supervisor or manager.

  • Lead by example, positive role model for other teammates. As a lead have the knowledge and confidence to fill in for the supervisor when not on the floor.

  • Proper communication amongst teammates, upper and lower management and other department (clerks, traffic, HR, customer service, etc.) which may include e-mail, phone calls, and direct contact.

  • Versatile in every department on the floor, and capable of explaining the operations.

  • Continuous on the job training to assist the supervisor for daily operations as well as succession planning for own position when out.

  • Exhibit a proactive behavior and attitude.

  • Be the first person at start up and last person at the end of the day including and not limited to making sure equipment is set up properly at the beginning and end of shift, wrapping up paper work or work that needs to be done daily.

  • Assist with training/cross training teammates.

  • Following proper SOP’s, GMP’S, HACCP and other plant rules.

  • Tasks completed in a timely manner.

  • Maintain acceptable attendance.

  • Duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Qualifications:

  • High School/GED required. Minimum of two (2) years of college preferred.

  • 3 to 5 years of experience leading/coaching people education/knowledge equivalent to related.

  • Preferred distribution experience or a minimum of three (3) years experience in a distribution environment.
