John Wiley & Sons Inc. Pricing and Product Operations Analyst in Hoboken, New Jersey

Location - Remote, USA

The main role of the Data Analyst is to support the product data & business operation team in analyzing product pricing, managing discount process, and improving workflows. The position requires high-level of collaboration, attention to detail, astute problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Data Analyst will collaborate with different business departments to ensure deadlines are met and projects completed successfully.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing accuracy for frontlist and backlist product pricing per policy
  • Assist in managing incoming pricing discount request by reviewing request and working in collaboration with sales and marketing team
  • Creating self-serve data dashboards to speed quality check
  • Learn, claim ownership (and help with troubleshooting) a growing suite of tertiary tools
  • Maintain data integrity and accuracy across all platforms
  • Assist in report maintenance, management, and delivery
  • A willingness to develop project management skills

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Business, Marketing, Finance, other relevant studies, or 2+ of years of relevant professional experience in data analysis
  • CRM experience (Salesforce preferred)
  • SQL reporting experience preferred
  • Analytical Skills: Must be able to deconstruct large forms of inconsistent data to categorize and draw conclusions to solve problems
  • Must have intermediate Excel Skills such as:
    • Comfortable using functions such as VLOOKUP, IF, COUNTIF, RIGHT/LEFT, ROUND, etc.
    • Create pivot tables
    • Knowledge of Power Query
  • Close attention to detail
  • High level of service with good project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve effectively using data
  • A good attitude and a positive mindset
