Expeditors Manager - Customs Brokerage in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Due to focus on providing our excellent customer service, Expeditors Ho Chi Minh City is recruiting Manager – Customs Brokerage as below:

Operations

  • Ensure that all customers are on a direct representation agreement.

  • Ensure no duty/VAT unbilled.

  • Ensure all classification instructions for all shipments for all customers.

  • Monitor undischarged Transit forms.

  • Monitor duty deferment usage and levels.

  • Monitor license/visa applications.

  • Ensure all documentation present for archiving purposes.

  • Meet with local customs to discuss performance, delays, red-channels, customs developments, and plans.

     Finance:

  • Follow up the customs guarantee for various operations.

  • Follow up refunds with customs authorities.

  • Follow Account Receivable (AR) report – review, delegate, and chase.

  • Ensure every account has a credit limit and check for credit extension when needed.

  • Department Profit and Lost (P&L) – review, identify, plan.

Sales:

  • Make Retention/Sales calls as per target.

  • Ensure all new business is transitioned correctly.

  • Report all calls - sales activities in Team sell and retention calls in the Retention database.

  • Issuance of customs proposal.

People:

  • Train, motivate, challenge and mentor other employees.

  • Conduct annual reviews for employee retention program – against company and job expectations.

  • Create personal development plan with each employee. Set up, plan training and follow-up.

  • Assist supervisor and key staff with goal setting and monitoring development.

  • Ensure all staff and positions have job descriptions, clear expectations and are working with structured development plan.

System:

  • Audit of files in accordance with requirement/ policy.

  • Management of customs system

  • Send client report requests through the available database from company system.

  • Promote productivity tools using company tools, system & process.

  • Be open to implementing new system changes and enhancements into your department.

Culture:   Proactively promote the company’s 10 cultural attributes.

  • College degree and above or equivalent qualifications.

  • At least 3-year experience in customs clearance and management/leadership experiences.

  • Well-rounded knowledge of the customs tariff, customs system, and regulations

  • Customs broker license is an advantage.

  • Good PC skills including MS Word and Excel.

  • Good English reading & speaking, understand cargo-related documents in English.

  • Experience in handling various import/export customs formalities.

  • Customer service skills and interpersonal skills are required.

  • Able to work well in team, under high pressure and tight deadline.

  • Good problem-solving skills.
