With the introduction of the Consumer Direct Offense came a focus on Key Cities and Speed to serve the Nike consumers. The Express Lane team in EMEA is focused on creating products that captures emerging local trends for EMEA’s key cities of London, Paris, Berlin & Milan.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Senior Footwear Developer to be an integral part of our footwear product creation team, who is passionate about Nike and our EMEA consumer.

The ideal candidate needs to be a self-starter, a quick learner, a strong communicator, a team player and exhibit strong leadership skills. Acts as an informal resource for teammates. Provide solutions to more complex problems based on established practices. As a member of our EMEA Express Lane, we will look for you to display the ability to gain knowledge of European consumer, ensuring our footwear meets their style, performance and comfort needs while also meeting internal costing targets.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As our Senior Footwear Developer in EMEA Express Lane, you will assist in driving product and process excellence within a team environment for your assigned projects. You will engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are managed according to critical dates and completed on time, while meeting design intent, performance goals, costing/profitability and sustainability targets. In addition, you will ensure that your projects are ready for the commercialization process and can ultimately be manufactured. In short, you get to create amazing footwear!

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

As a member of the EMEA Express Lane Team, you will work collaboratively with key functional partners throughout the Product Development process. This includes Footwear Material Design and Material Development, Footwear Color and Graphic Design, Product Management, Product Merchandising, Sourcing and Operations, Finance and our overseas partners – both within NIKE and external to NIKE. You will report to the Senior Footwear Development Manager.

You will need to navigate the Nike matrix to ensure that our processes model and match NIKE Footwear Development standard methodologies for product excellence. You are the key point of contact for our overseas partners and ensure that communication during the product development process is clear and accurate.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's level of thinking or equivalent experience.

  • Extensive combined project management experience relevant product-related role

  • Documented collaborator adept at working productively within a team.

  • Strong influencing skills and ability to champion complex projects both cross functionally and vertically within the organization.

  • An inclination to tinker, to create prototypes, to explore, learn, and to find ways to improve products through physically altering their state.

  • Knowledge of materials, test methods, properties and application.

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives.

  • Creative problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to identify & suggest cost effective solutions.

  • Strong understanding of Consumer Product or Hardgoods construction concepts, materials, and the product creation life cycle.

  • Demonstrated intermediate level understanding of footwear pattern engineering, tooling, and manufacturing process.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
