Intel Research and Development Engineer - Interconnect RC Modeling in Hillsboro, Oregon

Job Description

Designs, develops, tests, and debugs software tools, flows, and methodologies used in design automation and by teams in the design of hardware products, process design, or manufacturing. Responsibilities include capturing user stories/requirements, writing both functional and test code, automating build and deployment, and/or performing unit, integration, and end to end testing of the software tools.

In this role you will be working closely with various Technology Development teams and Design Enablement teams to define and characterize R and C models for various Industry first features on Intel's process technologies. You will collaborate with TCAD team to define and develop various early pathfinding tools and methodology for DTCO. Other responsibilities include understanding customers' needs and provide various software and modeling solutions that can help estimate early performance impact on circuits and can be adapted by RC Extraction and PnR tools/flows/methodologies as process matures. This position requires strong expertise in Physics/Electrostatics to analyze various physical ' thermal and process effects on VLSI Interconnect structures.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

MS with 4+ year, or Ph.D. with 2+ years of experience in Physics, ECE or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in Electrostatics or Computational Electromagnetics

  • 3+ years of experience in Numerical Methods or Linear Algebra

  • 3+ years of experience in C or C++ based large scale software development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in VLSI Interconnect RC modeling with Ralphael2D/3D or equivalent tool

  • 3+ years of experience in Algorithms and Optimization Techniques

-3+ years of experience in Finite Element ' Finite Difference ' Integral equations.

  • 3+ years of experience in Field Solver development/techniques

  • 3+ years of experience in scripting in Perl, or Python or TCL.

  • 1+ year of working on Unix/Linux operating system environment.

Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research. Compensation will vary based on number of matching skills and number of years of relevant work experience.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $144,501.00-$217,311.00

*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
