Mission Critical Construction Manager - Oregon

Responsibilities and Duties: The Mission Critical Construction Manager is responsible for managing internal and subcontractor crews for data center construction and upgrade projects. Scopes vary from minor BMS/EPMS upgrade projects to major multidiscipline scopes involving multiple subcontractors and trades This position will be based out of the Portland OR, in support of projects in the Umatilla area. This will require onsite supervision.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate and support internal and subcontractor teams on mission critical construction projects including new construction as well as BMS, EPMS, mechanical, electrical, and structural upgrades.

  2. Maintain safe working environment

  3. Apply expertise to support project management teams with planning, schedule management, coordination, and closeout.

  4. Provide technical direction and support for field crews in daily construction activities.

  5. Provide construction and schedule updates to project management team.

  6. Assist with coordination of client submittals, site logistics plans, and asbuilt documentation.

  7. Assist with coordination of RFIs and maintain log as required.

  8. Attend site visits and bid walks with client and subcontractors.

  9. Coordinate with estimating and project team to support RFQs and bid submittals.

  10. Promote positive customer relationships.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  1. 1-3 years or more of Mission Critical and Data Center construction experience

  2. Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, structural, architectural trades and industrial construction methods.

  3. Experience with BMS and EPMS systems construction, integration, and commissioning tasks.

  4. Proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, the internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook).

  5. Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic team environment with multiple stakeholders.

  6. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

  7. Strong attention to detail.

  8. Solution orientated with solid problem-solving skills.

  9. Ability and willingness to travel to project sites.

  10. Ability to pass background check.

  11. Must be eligible to work for an US employer without current or future sponsorship

Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting to 20 pounds. Hand manipulation is required for grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, as well as below the shoulder for same. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and work at heights.
