Lockheed Martin F-16 Aircraft Structural Design Engineer - Staff in Hill Air Force Base, Utah

Description: Join our Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment Team as a Fighter Aircraft Structural Repair Engineer Staff at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah facility! The selected candidate will be part of the on-site support team with the responsibility for providing technical/engineering support for F-16 structures. The primary responsibility for this position is to perform Material Review Board (MRB) activities supporting the F-16 Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) at the Hill AFB depot, as well as depots located in the Pacific and European theaters.

Structural support responsibilities include:

• Work with the United States Air Force and Lockheed Martin Aeronautics organizations in acquiring and analyzing data leading to top level recommendations for the F-16 Structural Mod Program.

• Evaluating and providing dispositions of aircraft structural issues affecting aircraft service life and cost per flying hour programs.

• Evaluating structural damage and stress repair dispositions.

• Supporting the aircraft structural modification team and evaluating the incorporation of the Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) processes.

• Must be a United States citizen. Must have at minimum a Final Secret Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in either Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering with at least 5 years professional experience in the following:

• Material Review Board experience

• Experience with Aerospace Specifications and Structural Engineering Drawings.

• Aircraft structural design and/or repair of in-service aircraft experience

• Aircraft structural nonconformance disposition experience.

• Experience reading and interpreting engineering and customer provided documentation

• Experienced user of computers with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

• Experience developing and presenting technical presentations.

• Must possess a Final Secret Security Clearance. Must be a United States citizen.

Desired Skills:

The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from the other candidates:

• Experience with rapid analysis of structural problems on aircraft, and provide solutions to help return the aircraft back to service safely.

• Experience providing support to assess structural and mechanical systems supportability and maintainability issues and develop risk management plans.

• Have Solid Modeling experience with CATIA, Solid works or similar programs.

• Experience with dispositioning fighter aircraft anomalies in a modification environment.

• Experience with stress analysis and margin of safety when it comes to aircraft nonconformances

• Understanding of the Technical Order publications and ability to navigate it to find desired information.

• Understand material selection, Heat treating processes, and applications of corrosion preventative material.

• Experience and understanding with Lockheed Martin programs, such as MPRSII and EDMS.

• Knowledge of the overall F-16 structural aircraft.

• Experience with F-16 Aircraft Structural Design Engineering and demonstrated the ability to repair F-16 structural damage with 3D modeling capability in CATIA version 5.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
