BAE Systems Sentinel Future Capabilities Principal Aerospace Engineer (Structures) in Hill AFB, Utah

Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a Principal Aerospace Engineer for an exciting opportunity developing new capabilities for the Sentinel ICBM weapon system at Hill Air Force Base (AFB), Utah. This position will provide superior engineering support and technical leadership to a large Government acquisition program.

This new ICBM program will design, develop, produce, and deploy new payload system suites (reentry vehicles and/or countermeasures). The key payload attributes include enhancements in accuracy, lethality, and ICBM Reentry System/Reentry Vehicle (RS/RV) interoperable operations. Program activities will also include the employment of digital acquisitions through the application of digital engineering, agile software development, and open systems architectures.

Responsibilities include

  • Provide technical advice to Government leaders and engineers.

  • Support requirements development, analysis of alternatives, verification and validation activities, and milestone preparation.

  • Prepare/review engineering analysis reports and key acquisition documents, including RFP packages.

  • Participate in technical interchange meetings, design reviews, program management reviews, certification working groups, and other technical meetings, as required.

  • Guide and develop more junior engineering team members.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor s degree in engineering or related field with 12 years of aerospace or mechanical engineering experience or master s degree in engineering or related field with 10 years of aerospace or mechanical engineering experience.

  • 6 years of progressive responsibility in providing technical leadership.

  • Experience as an aerospace/mechanical engineer on a missile system or other complex weapon system (especially ACAT I program or ICBM-related experience).

  • Pursuant to Government contract, this position requires US citizenship.Due to its special-access, classified working environment, this position is only located at Hill AFB, Utah, and is not conducive to telework schedules.

  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

The ideal candidate will have most of the following experience:

  • Experience as an aerospace/mechanical engineer on a missile system or complex weapon system (especially ACAT I program or ICBM-related experience).

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $115110 - $195660

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
