ManTech Junior Electrical/Systems Engineer in Hill AFB, Utah

ManTech is seeking a junior Electrical/Systems Engineer to support the F-16 IAIS Product Support Integrator effort at Hill AFB, Utah.

General Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in research and development, acquisition, and sustainment of F-16 Improved Avionics Intermediate Shop (IAIS) suite of testers

  • Support engineering activities and programmatic milestones through the development and review of engineering documentation (System Engineering Plans, Test and Evaluation Master Plans, Interface Control Documents, System Specifications, etc) and requirements documentation, system engineering technical review (SETR) briefing materials, configuration management activities and program schedules

  • Provide technical support, coordination, and recommendations to the Government Supply Chain Office using general systems engineering, system design, system development life cycle principles and/or requirements analysis

  • Knowledge of detailed technical studies, conducting analysis of current and future requirements relating to design, all phases of testing and fielding, and mission effectiveness

  • Support and participate in systems engineering technical reviews (systems requirements review, preliminary and critical design reviews, integration readiness review, and system acceptance review) through documentation preparation, review of criteria, and preparation of briefing material

  • Perform system/subsystem definition, preliminary and detailed design, design implementation, system/subsystem integration, and test for a system/subsystem

  • Interface with the Supply Chain Manager to manage engineering tasking, provide subject matter expertise in acquisition engineering best practices, and analyze technical problems; develop courses of action and present recommendations to leadership on solutions

  • Support the Engineering Change Proposal process by reviewing proposals and associated documents in the package, advising the Program Office on their technical merit, and assist with change management process through the Change Review Board/Configuration Control Board

  • Coordinate program meetings, maintain documentation in knowledge repositories, and provide ad-hoc administrative support, as required

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, support proposal efforts, and facilitate completion of engineering activities and transfer of information resulting in technical successes for the program

  • Provide expertise and direction in the development or modification of complex system/subsystem functions and programs to enhance overall system capabilities

  • Provide functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of hardware and software operating systems for the organization's products

  • May be responsible for the training, tasking, and mentoring of less experienced systems engineers/systems analysts

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of systems engineering experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or additional equivalent experience

  • Extensive knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project

  • Experience should include the following elements:

  • Requirements definition

  • Modular testing

  • Formulating design methodology

  • Documentation origination

  • Systems integration and testing to verify required performance

  • Assessment of change proposals for technical merit

  • Database design and development

  • DoD Architecture Framework

Security Clearance:

  • DOD Secret

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of DoD/USAF F-16 IAIS programs and capabilities

  • Knowledge of systems development lifecycle, network/systems design and implementation, virtualization, and cloud technologies

  • DAU Engineering (or related field) Level I or higher certification

  • DoDD 8140/8570 compliant and certified

  • Agile Scrum Master

  • Knowledge of Automatic Test Equipment/Automatic Test Systems preferred

  • Master’s degree in a related field

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
