Description

My client is a private equity owned manufacturing organization is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join their finance team in Highlands Ranch, CO. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for various accounting functions, including general ledger, financial reporting, and analysis, and will ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a degree in accounting, finance, or business, at least 3 years of experience in accounting, and a preference will be given to candidates who started in audit (especially Big 4) and have a CPA.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Accountant:

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.

  • Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and other departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information and compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.

  • Assist with the annual external audit and respond to audit inquiries and requests.

  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting transactions.

  • Prepare and maintain accounting policies and procedures documentation and recommend improvements to processes and controls.

  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and compliance with tax laws and regulations.

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators and financial metrics and recommend actions to improve financial performance and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting.

  • CPA certification preferred.

  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements.

  • Experience in manufacturing industry preferred.

  • Experience with ERP systems and Excel.

  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
