As an Irrigation Technician, you'll be the lifeblood of our city's greenery. You'll install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems, ensuring our parks, fields, and public spaces are lush and vibrant. You'll troubleshoot problems with precision, optimize water usage, and contribute to a sustainable Highland.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain irrigation systems, including controllers, pumps, valves, pipes, and sprinkler heads.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve irrigation system problems efficiently.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of irrigation systems.
  • Adjust irrigation schedules based on weather conditions and plant needs.
  • Operate heavy equipment, including trenchers and backhoes, as needed.
  • Assist with other public works tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Utah Commercial (Class A) Driver's License.
  • Irrigation certification (preferred).
  • Previous experience in irrigation maintenance or construction (preferred).
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects.
Compensation and Benefits

Highland City offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including:

  • Irrigation Technician I $21.84 - $27.31 (normally hired up to the median of pay range)
  • Irrigation Technician II $24.20 - $31.46 (normally hired up to the median of pay range)
