West Virginia Employer Lifeguard/Recreational Worker in High View, West Virginia

BFOQ Must be at least 15 years of age due to child labor laws. Responsibilities: Oversees all activities at the pool and surrounding areas. Acts immediately to ensure the safety of guests in the event of an emergency. Explains and enforces rules, regulations, and policies. Maintains constant surveillance of the pool and ensures the safety of swimmers. Assists swimmers in distress by using rescue techniques and equipment. Assists injured persons and administers first aid or CPR as necessary and contacts emergency medical personnel in case of a serious injury. May assist in other areas of recreation or other departments as needed if the pool is closed for inclement weather or maintenance. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Must have current life saving certification from an approved provider, and first aid/CPR certification. AED certification preferred. This is a seasonal position typically from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Hours will vary based on weather conditions and occupancy. May require some evening hours when night swims are scheduled. Days will vary but will include weekend and holiday work. This is a part time, hourly position (approximately 20-30 hours per week).
