Job Description:

Nemco Food Equipment is committed to the manufacturing and on-time delivery of parts and equipment to all operations using experienced material handlers who can operate a variety of tools and resources. In this job, you will work in a fast-paced production environment, using forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and inventory software. After an initial training period, productivity and quality requirements must be met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
  • Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  • Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
  • Receives credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code and lot number and quantity; placing materials in stock.
  • Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs.
  • Set up assembly lines according to production schedule using documented setup sheets
  • Create and print all required labels for assembly jobs

Qualifications:

  • Ability to set up and operate material handling equipment.
  • Pass a forklift driving test (Nemco certification)
  • Ability to keep workspace clean and organized.
  • Ability to interpret setup documents and modify as needed
  • Experience as a material handler or setup technician in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Physical Requirements

Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.

Lifting: Frequently lifting items weighing 5 lbs. to 10 lbs.; occasionally lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs. Occasional team lift of items weighing in excess of 51 lbs.

Walking: Frequent walking short distances (less than 1/8 mile).

Carrying: Occasional carrying of bulky items weighing up to 50 lbs. short distances.

Pushing: Use of manual hand truck and carts to occasionally move skids or parts short distances.

Pulling: Use of manual hand truck and carts to occasionally move skids or parts short distances.

Bending: Occasional bending required to perform a variety of tasks.

Reaching: Frequent reaching to load and unload parts in tubs, carts, or pallets.

Handling: Frequent handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 10 lbs.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday- Thursday (5:00 am-3:30 pm; 10 hour shift) Subject to Change
  • Frequent Overtime is required
