National Grid is hiring a Lead Performance Lab Business Translator - Python and SQL
This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance to one of our locations
This role can be located in Syracuse, NY; Hicksville, NY; Brooklyn, NY; Waltham, MA

Job Purpose

The Customer Performance Lab supports the Customer Digital Experience and Customer Service and the Customer Billing and Collections teams with data insights on digital channels and operations for continuous improvement opportunities across process, performance, and digital portfolios in the Customer Organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing use cases & analytics projects to ensure the Performance Lab is correctly addressing business questions. Validate logic & calculations for consistency with business logic. Drive continuous improvement efforts and own all reporting from in-flight analytics use cases, and ensure reporting is actionable and that the business can drive value from insights. Their duties include collaborating with business stakeholders, CDP and other data professionals, IT to facilitate report development, data analysis, SQL scripting, validation, and Power BI report creation. Overall help support business initiatives' reporting deliverables across Customer Process and Digital Experience.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop relationships with Customer Digital teams to understand their business challenges and bridge the gap for how data and analytics can drive insights for the business.
  • Translate business questions and challenges into an actionable analytics use case for the data scientists to build. Provide recommendations on measurement of use case (i.e., calculations and tagging).
  • Develop, test, evaluate, tune, and deploy predictive and machine learning models
  • Act as a liaison, facilitating effective communication and understanding between business stakeholders, data scientists and data teams. Facilitate a feedback loop between data scientists and business stakeholders, ensuring that the analysis aligns with business needs and objectives.
  • Interpret data analysis results andIdentify improvement opportunities in the context of the business, helping stakeholders understand the implications and potential impacts on decision-making.
  • Support benefits tracking of these insights and improvements to quantify the value driven through analytics.
  • Working knowledge of digital channels and customer operations
  • Experience connecting business context to Analytics/AI findings.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Econometrics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or Computer Science
  • 5+ years working in data modeling, statistical analysis, and relevant computing environments
  • Advanced skills in statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, mathematics, operations research, and/or quantitative academic research
  • Working knowledge of Python, SQL, PowerBI, and similar tools is required

Travel:

  • Some Travel is required for this position within the State of MA and NY.

$110,000 - $129,000 a year - Upstate, NY$132,000 - $155,000 a year - Downstate, NY
$123,000 - $145,000 a year - Massachusetts
Salary commensurate with location and experience

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
