Fairview Health Services Orthopedic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider in Hibbing, Minnesota

Fairview Range Medical Center is seeking an Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our orthopedic department in Hibbing, MN.

Our providers are supported by a larger multi-specialty clinic structure and work collaboratively with 22+ physicians and 6 NP/PAs in these specialties: pediatrics, Ob/Gyn, internal medicine, otolaryngology, orthopedics, general surgery and sports medicine. Consulting physicians are available in neurology, cardiology and oncology. Ties to the University of Minnesota strengthen the ability to access University of Minnesota specialists for questions or phone consults. Many other subspecialists are available through extensive outreach programs.

Schedule : This position is full time, working 80 hours per pay period. This position will work 8 hour, day shifts. Weekends as needed.

Fairview Mesaba Clinic is associated with Fairview Range Medical Center, the largest medical center in the area, that uses the latest in diagnostic and surgical equipment and techniques. Services include: 24-hour fully staffed ED with emergency medicine physicians, comprehensive laboratory and diagnostic imaging, 24-hour respiratory therapy, radiation therapy, ICU, Medical/Surgical Pediatric floor and comprehensive physician therapy, occupational, and speech therapy and cardiac rehab, along with a number of specialty clinics including diabetes and coumadin clinics.

Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Job Responsibilities

  • EPIC EMR

  • 1.0 FTE, 36 patient contact hours per week.

  • Work alongside our orthopedic surgeon.

  • Four hospital operating rooms.

  • Manage clinic patients and assist in the OR.

  • Dedicated Physical Therapy department.

  • Clinic nursing support.

  • Othopedic Surgery clinic adjacent to hospital.

Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Job Qualifications

  • Progressive clinical experience.

  • Masters degree in advanced practice nursing or Physician Assistant studies.

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a masters or doctorate degree as an Advanced Practice OR Graduate of an accredited school of Physician Assistant studies with a masters or doctorate degree.

  • Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner license from MN Board of Nursing. Physician Assistant studies certification.

  • Clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a Primary Care or Urgent Care setting preferred.

  • Doctorate degree in advanced practice nursing or Physician Assistant studies preferred.
