Fairview Health Services Medical Imaging Assistant, Diagnostic Imaging in Hibbing, Minnesota

Fairview Range is hiring a Medical Imaging Assistant for our Department in Hibbing, MN .

As a Medical Imaging Assistant, you will provide diagnostic imaging support for patients with the knowledge and ability to collect information, assess, and intervene as appropriate in the care of patients. Coordinates and works with the other members of the patient care team by performing a range of administrative and clinical functions. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, insurance verification, rooming patients, taking vitals and health history, documenting in an electronic medical record, assisting technologists and RNs, and other duties as assigned.

Schedule: This position will work 40 to 71 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 8-hours on the Day/Evening shift. Weekends: As needed

With imaging services at Fairview Range Medical Center and the Fairview Mesaba clinics, we serve patients in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. We provide a vast array of imaging services including x-ray, CT, MRI, mammography, fluoroscopy, and pain management, as well as ultrasound and nuclear medicine.

As a Medical Imaging Assistant, you are responsible for:

  • Preparing patients for exam and explains to the patient in everyday terms.

  • Documenting patient history, information, and encounters.

  • Documenting orders accurately in accordance with RRHS's policies and procedures.

  • Acquiring health history from the patient.

  • Sanitizing medical supplies and disposing of materials that have been used.

  • Cleaning and stocking of supplies for the exam rooms.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Medical Assisting, Nursing Assistant, or assistant in Imaging.

  • Completion of CMA or CNA training program.
