Retail Sales Attendants are responsible for providing prompt and courteous service to Hershey’s Chocolate World guests in any of our shops on the retail floor. They welcome and greet guests, initiate conversations, answer all questions related to our retail line or products, restock, and operate a cash register. Retail Sales Attendants must be approachable and seek to understand our guests’ needs. The required skills will be learned primarily through on–the-job training. This is a part-time position located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The company will not provide relocation assistance or other employment benefits for this position. There is a limited number of weekday daytime shifts available during non-peak seasons. Hershey’s Chocolate World requires a focus on exceptional customer service and expects employees to be approachable, courteous, knowledgeable about our products, able to clearly communicate with guests and assist them with questions, and provide general information to guests with a high level of professionalism. * Major Duties/ Responsibilities:* * Must demonstrate our Customer Service Pledge o Must be approachable, showing that our guests are our priority o Must initiate contact with our guests by being courteous and greeting them with a smile o Must be willing to listen to our guests and provide for their needs o Must provide a genuine Thank You to every guest * Greet, welcome, and extend service to customers while meeting or exceeding service standards * Assist visitors with the purchase of gifts, candy, and souvenirs * Restock supplies and maintain a clean work area * Operate a cash register * Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities: * * Must maintain a neat appearance and adhere to the uniform standards * Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment * Must have problem-solving skills * Ability to take initiative * General retail knowledge a plus * Must be able to walk or stand for 5-8 hours * Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry 25-50 lbs with the possibility of overhead lifting * Requires bending, stooping, and twisting * Must be able to tolerate repetitive motion of the hands, fingers, and wrists * Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and fellow coworkers and function effectively as part of a team * Must have basic math skills (addition and subtraction) * Must be able to operate a cash register * Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:* * Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred but not required * Experience: Retail sales work experience is preferred but not required / This description covers the most significant duties performed, but the incumbent may be responsible for other minor-related work assignments./ The Hershey Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
