Would you like to do this using the latest cloud computing technologies? Do you have a knack for helping these groups understand application architectures and integration approaches, and the consultative and leadership skills to launch a project on a trajectory to success?

AWS Elemental is an Amazon Web Services company that combines deep video expertise with the power and scale of the cloud. We are looking for Software Development Engineers to work as a team that will build new software features and deploy AWS Media Services to air-gapped regions and support government customers operating in those regions. What would I do?

  • Define and deliver large multi-tiered distributed software applications

  • Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and roll-out system changes that meet requirements for functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, and adherence to development goals and principles.

  • Independently design, code and test major features, as well as work jointly with other team members to deliver innovative solutions to complex business and technical challenges.

  • Deploy and operate highly scalable video services in air-gapped regions

  • Collaborate in a fast-paced environment with multiple teams in a dynamic entrepreneurial organization.

Do I have the right stuff?

  • Extraordinary sense of ownership and passion for writing world-class software.

  • Extensive experience as a Software Developer including experience with multi-tiered solutions, database interactions, UNIX/Linux and support of production applications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Leading edge software engineering practices including good design documentation, source control, unit testing, peer code-reviews, object-oriented design/coding skills, etc.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
