ManTech Junior Cyber Configuration Management Specialist in Herndon, Virginia

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Junior Cyber Configuration Management Specialist . There are three possible locations for this role Chandler, AZ; Stennis, MS; Washington, DC.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for leading and supporting all CM activities, including release management processes, software and hardware deployment processes and close-out of release candidates

  • Experience with implementing CM policy and maintaining configuration control of documents through best practices

  • Create, review, maintain, and execute configuration management plans, policies, and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with federal mandates, NIST guidance, FISMA requirements, and DoD policies.

  • Provide Quality Assurance, Program/Project, Requirements Analysis, Risk Management, and Software Engineering support services in accordance with the Customer's Configuration Management Plan and PMO practices.

  • Initiate, control, track, and audit changes, deviations, and waivers according to current customer approved policies and procedures.

  • Develop, review, and maintain a Configuration Management Database (CMDB), which is a central repository of hardware, and software configuration items.

  • Manage the Commission Configuration Change Request (CRQ) process for implementing changes.

  • Recommend improvements to the CRQ Process to promote improved business functionality and overall efficiency.

  • Monitor and audit configuration changes to confirm that configuration management records and configuration items are complete, consistent, accurate, and ensure compliance with approved configuration baseline.

  • Experience with and knowledge of information technology systems and software

  • Ensure all implementations of IT investments or requests are in compliance with the customer.

  • Develop, review, and audit configurations for network and computing devices to ensure that they meet federal hardening standards adopted by the DoD.

  • Responsible for leading all CM activities, including release management processes, software deployment processes and close-out of release candidates

  • Update and manage system documentation (e.g. software design documents, engineering drawings, specifications, interface flow diagrams, site specific databases)

  • Manage configuration control documentation that includes change control procedure collection, processing, distribution and tracking of modification request forms, establishment and administration of change control boards, and formal audits to compare product to documentation

  • Manage data calls and track responses to data calls updating completion of actions as appropriate

  • Provide meeting agendas and meeting minutes as requested

  • Strong communication skills with all levels of personnel/management

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction providing technical and non-technical support to multiple users

  • Excellent communication skills and strong organizational skills

  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure on multiple projects

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • An IAT level II certification

  • A bachelor’s degree

  • A minimum of (1) one year of configuration management -OR- a minimum of (5) years of IT technical experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DHS experience

  • DoD experience

  • ServiceNow experience

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen

  • Must hold an active Secret clearance

  • Must be eligible for Top-Secret clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
