Jacobs Expert Lead Integrator in Herndon, Virginia

Your Impact:

As a Expert Lead Integrator, you will support an exciting National Security mission to position NGA to be the enterprise and community GEOINT data provider, improving the way analysts, customers, and end users access, discover, stage, link, produce, re-integrate, and deliver intelligence. You will work with talented developers and colleagues, gaining exposure to industry best practices such as AWS cloud solutions, continuous integration/delivery, infrastructure as code, and automation of testing of deployments.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies cross-team dependencies; works with Government Product Owners for SRB, CRB, and ORB processes; and ensures teams deliver capabilities that adds mission value.

  • Trusted team between Govt Product Manager and Lead developers to ensure that end two end capabilities that development teams delivered are seamlessly integrated and interoperable.

  • Manage projects to ensure timely production of quality products aligned to requirements.

  • Consult with clients to understand and determine software requirements.

  • Collect, analyze and suggest short term and long term budgetary activities

  • Test software functionality and design concepts.

  • Engage in working groups to streamline costs, determine risks and gaps and offer strategic support.

  • Evaluate and analyze high profile projects.

  • Oversee projects performance to identify areas requiring adjustments like portfolio rebalance.

  • Interface with Government engineering and senior management teams.

  • Work closely with 3rd party vendors /service providers on all touch points including upgrading applications and production support issues

  • Provides end-to-end project management support of the lifecycle

  • Map resources to projects to provide management insight into resource utilization

  • Apply program management principles to improve project implementation, reporting and internal metrics

  • Oversee and perform change management activities

  • Provide expert counseling and support to the development team on construction and maintenance of robust, secure and efficient applications

  • Research emerging technologies to decide if installation can increase the organization's efficiency and effectiveness

  • Prepare an analysis of cost and benefits for decision making on IT systems and computing infrastructure efficiencies

  • Devise ways to add new functionality to existing technical systems and architectures

  • Design and implement new systems by choosing and configuring software

  • Oversee the installation and configuration of new software and capabilities

  • Conduct testing to ensure that the systems work as expected

  • Train system end users and write instruction manuals

Here’s What You’ll Need: (detailed requirements from the contract including LCAT requirements)

  • At least 10 years’ experience with API development, AWS services (S3, DIODE, SNS/SQS, SDK development, Cloudformation), Apache Nifi, ElasticSearch, PKI, Terraform, Jenkins/Gitlab CI, Containerization (e.g. Docker), and basic shell programming and system administration

  • At least 7 years’ experience with Integrator skills sets: Automated testing tools such as cucumber, Pact, JMeter, Elastic Logstash Kibana (ELK) framework, understanding of ICD503 A&A controls, AWS Lambda, Ansible/Salt, PCF, Kong

  • Applicable software/ hardware/management training & certification (e.g.; specialties like Amazon Web Service architect/engineering)

  • Strong AWS skills with experience in implementing and managing AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and CloudFormation

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
