Summary:

 

 

 

Tends high volume low-pressure (HVLP) and pump-style spray guns that coat large towing equipment with paint/ topcoat by performing the following duties.Primarily responsible for painting all finish surfaces of wrecker components and other manufactured products. Work with tools and equipment trained to use as a finish painter. Responsible for maintaining of all equipment such as mask, paint sprayer equipment, etc. Person must have ability to paint with gloss paint. All work must be done with quality in mind. Must be informed of protective equipment needed to perform the job and precautions necessary when working with hazardous materials. Person must have minimum of one (1) year experience as a finish painter. Candidates will be required to take hands-on spray-painting test. This position also requires standing, climbing, stooping, and crawling on concrete floor. Position is not in a climate-controlled area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Sands and prepares surface for painting.
  • Builds topcoat thickness of high gloss finish.
  • Follows company procedures and displays a sense of urgency towards completing assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrates ability to follow instructions from supervisor and team leader.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

     

     

     Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience setting up, using, and maintaining gravity fed HVLP guns and pump- style spray systems. Must know and understand how to mix paint as well as which chemicals to use for specific conditions.

  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Required to stand, walk, climb, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Frequently required to use fingers, hands, and arms to handle and reach.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move 5-30lbs.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Required to work four 12-hour days, occasionally working up to 5 days/week as business demands.
  • Ability to wear protective gear due to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Ability to frequently be exposed to flashing lights.
  • Must occasionally be exposed to weather conditions such as: precipitation, extreme cold and extreme heat.
  • Regularly required to wear hearing protection in a loud environment.
