Miller Industry Aluminum Welder | Day Shift | 4 on 4 off Schedule - 451 in Hermitage, Pennsylvania

 

*Current Starting Pay: *

$18.30 - Plus an additional $0.25 Aluminum Premium 

 

After 90 days: Eligible to take Welder 2 Test -- Starting Rate $22.37

Summary:

Welds metal parts with gas welding equipment as specified by blueprints by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·Ability to weld aluminum 

·Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks.

·Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.

·Repairs broken or cracked metal objects, fills holes, and builds up metal parts.

·Lays out, positions, and tack welds workpieces.

·Scarfs or grooves weld prior to applying filler metal.

·Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or spatter.

·Cleans or degreases parts.

·Ability to MIG weld.

·Ability to read AWS blueprints.

 

 

 

 

 

 

·Ability to perform physical aspects of the job including climbing step ladders, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, and standing for long periods of time

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. ·Requires standing for extended periods of time(10-12 hours).

·Must be able to wear required PPE including a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) weighing approximately 2.5 pounds for extended periods of time (10-12 hours).

 

 

 

 

 

·Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to work a schedule of four days on, then four days off.

While performing th duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-100 pounds, and frequently lift and/ or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
