Recently named a Forbes America's Best-In-State Employer 2022! What you'll do The primary purpose of the Resident Aide is to assist the Nursing staff in performing non-technical assigned tasks. Assist in resident transports throughout the facility and to and from medical appointments as assigned. Assist in passing fluids and nourishment to residents after completing appropriate in-servicing under guidance of the LPN/Charge Nurse. Assist the nursing staff in performing tasks as assigned such as bed-making for empty beds only, straightening linens, cleaning closets and bedside tables, answer call lights and resident’s alarms. Attend facility offered feeding assistant course as scheduled (expected competency to assist feeding residents as assigned). All other non-technical duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing, Nurse Supervisor or Nurse Care Coordinator. Attend all required in-services and follow all department and facility policies and procedures including the use of personal protective equipment. Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all resident care and employee information and follow HIPAA and HIV regulations. What we need from you Education/Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, preferred Skills: Accountability Interacting with People Multi-Tasking Patience Responsibility Physical Requirements: Light work: exerting up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work. Occasional: balancing, crouching, typing/clerical/dexterity, kneeling, lifting, pulling, stooping, seeing/monitor/computer use, fit testing Frequent: grasping, hearing, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, walking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception) Hazards: Occasional: bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure.
