Recently named a Forbes America's Best-In-State Employer 2022! What you'll do The primary purpose of the Food Service Supervisor is to provide assistance to the Food Service Manager. The Food Service Supervisor ensures staff deliver quality nutritional services on a daily basis and that the department is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner. Assist with the implementation and maintenance of all established operating policies and procedures of department. Assist with the orientation, training and general supervision of all department employees. Responsible for all the duties in the absence of the Food Service Manager. Assist with development of sanitation a check list and supervises departmental sanitation. Provide dining room and kitchen supervision to make sure that the needs of all the residents, patients, staff and visitors are met. Assure that all food items are at proper temperature for all meals. Supervise the closing each night as applicable. Provide weekly production sheets and supervise their implementation by all food service staff. Supervise and assure the use of standardized recipes. Post weekly menus and assure that menu substitutions for corrections are recorded. Plan, produce and serve request for special functions as ordered. Post and review all temperature sheets for coolers, freezers and dish machine; make corrections as needed. Assist with all departmental daily and weekly ordering. Fill in for other food service positions, such as cook, as needed. Maintain availability of resident/ patients meal tickets. Assist in completing staff performance evaluations. Maintain accurate production counts. Assist with the scheduling of food service employees Supervise food storage in coolers, freezers and storeroom, assure proper labeling and dating. Assist in completing monthly inventory. Maintain good rapport with the Food Service department, all residents and all other personnel. Maintain and evaluate all operating procedures of the Food Service department and make all necessary changes as needed. Supervises and coordinates activities of kitchen workers who prepare and cook food for patients, staff, and visitors. Ensures that food service operations comply with all health codes and requirements. Assists in contacting assigned vendors to order food. Performs other duties as assigned. What we need from you Education/Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, required 2 year / Associate Degree in related field, preferred Experience: Minimum one year experience, preferred Will train in-house with High School Diploma or GED and at least 2-4 years experience in the Food Service field. Licensure / Certifications: SERVSAFE certification, preferred Skills: Accountability Attention to Detail Computer Skills Clinical Skills Build Relationships Customer Service Handling Money Employee Relations Interacting with People Interviewing Training Team Building Supervise Others Physical Requirements: Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
