At the Eaton Hengelo location, part of Eaton's EMEA Electrical Systems & Services (ESS) Business Unit, Critical Systems Division, there is a vacancy for a Junior Business Controller. What you’ll do:

The Junior Business Controller in Hengelo, together with the local Financial Controlling team (Plant Controller, a Senior Financial Analyst, a Project Controller and two Assistant Controlling resources), is responsible for the business profit plan and local ledger.

This needs to be executed within the defined plant and business unit/divisional financial procedures, guidelines and authority levels, in order to realize a timely and accurate reporting within Eaton and to local Plant Management and senior leadership. Furthermore, the Junior Business Controller supports in cost control versus budget, KPI monitoring, CAPEX control and forecasting.

The controlling team works closely with the Accounting team, led by the Accounting Zone Leader Netherlands & Belgium responsible for Accounting matters. There is a split between Controlling and Accounting.

Main responsibilities:

• Prepares analysis for Operations Management Team / Senior leadership on financial implications of operating strategies, cost control actions and decisions;

• Pro-active business partner of the Research & Development team in Hengelo. Ensures right decision making for our (future) growth;

• Prepares CAPEX requests prior to local/region/division and corporate management approval. Monitors and reports purchase commitments and spending for all capital programs;

• Manages handover of local transactional process and financial accounting processes to country accounting team. Ensures that transfer of account reconciliation process maintains integrity of general ledger and its supporting sub-systems;

• Monitors and maintains a system of internal controls that safeguards company assets and provides for integrity and propriety of financial transactions and activities. Compliance with corporate policy, including SOX.

Qualifications:

• Master degree in Business Economics (“Bedrijfseconomie”) or equivalent

• +/- 1-3 years of work experience, preferably in international business environment;

Skills:

• Demonstrates a willingness to engage with the business and drive improvements;

• Ability to analyse, interpret and present financial information that demonstrates structured thinking and good problem solving skills;

• Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing. Can connect with people at all levels of the organization including production;

• Experience working in SAP is an advantage;

• Proficient knowledge of Excel & Powerpoint;

• Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and in writing.
