Eaton Corporation Continuous Improvement Manager in Hengelo, Netherlands

Location: on site in Hengelo, The Netherlands

Eaton Hengelo factory is now located at the heart of the The Green Box cleantech campus in The Netherlands, a unique location with multiple companies who all work towards future clean technology. Eaton has offices, test, storage and production facilities for electrical equipment, which is essential for charging electric cars, temporarily storing electricity.

Our production site in Hengelo is on sustained growth trend, as a complex agile High- manufacturing location. From sustainability to Energy Transition to the Electrification, the in Hengelo site is currently linked to all of these from a manufacturing standpoint, as in Hengelo we design and bring to life the next generation of medium- voltage switchgear power equipment.

Role Overview:

  • As member of the Operations Site Leadership team, in this role you will play a crucial role in advancing the Continuous Improvement (CI) culture and Lean journey of our Hengelo manufacturing plant.

  • You will be responsible for developing and deploying the Continuous Improvement CI/Lean strategy for the site, utilizing Eaton’s Business System in alignment with the corporate, divisional, and business unit. You will provide leadership in analyzing, maintaining, and improving organizational performance. Progress reporting on key performance indicators and key projects will be required on defined intervals.

  • The role reports into the Plant Manager and has a functional reporting line to the EMEA Continuous Improvement / Lean Director of the Critical Systems Division. The role also leads the manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement teams.

  • The key objective, together with the other members of the Management Team, will be to deliver on customer expectations to a point where, Hengelo qualifies as an Eaton Model Plant and Center of Excellence for medium voltage switchgear, engineering, manufacturing, assembly and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement Continuous Improvement CI Onboarding using Continuous Improvement CI Foundation Training

  • Develop OpA (Operational Assessment Process)

  • Develop Eaton Lean Six Sigma ELSS Maturity Roadmap

  • Facilitate Plant Eaton Business System Strategy Deployment Event

  • Train, deploy and monitor Continuous Improvement Framework CIF implementation and maturity using the Continuous Improvement Framework CIF roadmap

  • Build Continuous Improvement CI Competency (“Eaton Lean Six Sigma ELSS Professionals”, “Continuous Improvement CI Professionals” and tool SMEs)

  • Facilitate Continuous Improvement CI Council

  • Drive Site Cost Out and Continuous Improvement CI Project Portfolio

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Industrial Technology or equivalent (Master is a plus)

  • Proven working experience with within Operations, Lean and Continuous Improvement activities.

  • Ambitious and strong Leader with skills to operate effectively in a cross-functional team with the ability to lead change.

  • Extensive knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles. Practical application experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodology (Green/Black Belt certification).

  • Experience with operational assessments processes and leading this as a project lead with work groups.

  • Track record of driving CI (Kaizen) through sustainable processes.

  • Profit&loss and basic financials concepts knowledge.

  • Ambitious, high level of motivation and drive.

  • English & Dutch languages at fluent level.
