Summary:

Under moderate supervision and in collaboration with clinical staff, the Dietary Assistant performs a range of tasks to ensure that patients receive accurate and efficient delivery of adequate nutrition.

Responsibilities:

•Assists with the transportation and delivery of meals and food service to patients throughout the hospital.

•Coordinates menu selection with patients and clinical staff.

•Performs quality checks to ensure match between prepared food and dietary restrictions as documented in dietary system.

•Communicates and facilitates documented diet changes to clinical, dietary and kitchen staff, including during meal service.

•Collaborates with dietician in review of patient records in electronic medical recordkeeping (EMR) tool for understanding and effective use of dietary plan
