Summary:

The Director prioritizes, plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operation of the Cardiovascular Services Department(s) in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, industry standards, and regulations that govern the organizational enterprise. These efforts will be directed by the Chief Administrative Officer to ensure that the organizational goals are achieved within the highest degree of quality, service, and team member engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads, coaches, and develops an assigned team of professionals in Cardiovascular Services, including subordinate leaders. Fosters independence and autonomy through the delivery of timely, thorough, and constructive feedback on performance.

  • Develops leaders and their operations to ensures overall financial health of subordinate units, especially year-to-year, as well as sub-unit budget efficiency, retention, employee engagement, and operations performance relative to assigned organizational goals.

  • Drives strategic goal-setting process in Cardiovascular Services. Faced with fundamental resource metrics, sets out a campaign of transformation for service line that leaves the overall organization better positioned to anticipate the future, navigate the present and meet the needs of the community.

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge of leadership, finance and operations best practices to shape outcomes across a range of overlapping or even divergent priorities. Partners with executive leaders in organizational strategic goal-setting process.

  • Communicates, reinforces and provides oversight on the execution of documented strategic vision. Regularly engages with the downstream effects of executive-triggered change, funneling direction into functional strategy.

  • Collaborates with executive and finance functions regarding annual and ad hoc changes to headcount. Allocates resources within broad financial limits. Develops, proposes and implements the annual operating budget for departments under direction.

  • Drives accountability into assigned leaders for self-defined and imposed organizational metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Actively measures the patient experience and works in conjunction with other departments to improve that experience.

  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to build awareness and exposure in the community.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business, finance or healthcare administration focus

  • Five (5) years of experience as service line leader of comprehensive cardiovascular program

  • Five (5) years of experience in a healthcare business or finance leadership role

  • Experience working in a multi-site healthcare organization

  • Experience leading a cross-functional team, including clinical professionals

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree

  • Experience with direct oversight of employed providers
