Their job involves interpreting blueprints or welding process specifications, selecting appropriate welding equipment and materials, preparing surfaces for welding, and operating welding equipment to weld, cut, or repair metal components.

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $16 - $20 / hour

What you'll be doing as a MIG Welder:

  • Welding Operations: Perform MIG welding operations to join metal parts according to blueprints, diagrams, or work instructions.

  • Equipment Setup: Set up MIG welding equipment including selecting proper voltage and wire feed settings, as well as ensuring gas flow and other parameters are correct for the material being welded.

  • Material Preparation: Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, or other appropriate methods to ensure proper welding penetration and quality.

  • Quality Control: Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet required specifications for strength and aesthetics. Make necessary adjustments to welding parameters to maintain quality.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure proper functioning. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of welding operations, including materials used, welding parameters, and inspection results.

  • Collaboration: Coordinate with other team members or departments to complete projects on time and according to specifications

Job requirements:

  • Welding Experience: Previous experience as a MIG welder or similar role is typically required. Proficiency in other welding techniques such as TIG or stick welding may be beneficial.

  • Technical Skills: Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and welding process specifications. Knowledge of welding equipment setup and operation.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality welds and adherence to specifications.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks. Must be able to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.

  • Safety Consciousness: Commitment to following safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.

  •  Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve common goals and meet project deadlines.

  • Background check and drug screen required
