Job Summary As a Ready-Mix Concrete Truck Driver, you will maintain a truck and deliver concrete in a safe, timely, and professional manner to commercial and residential construction job sites. The ideal candidate for the Driver position will be self-motivated, show attention to detail, possess a high level of customer service, and be team oriented. Duties & Responsibilities Sparrow Enterprises prides themselves on the customer base they have built with both the concrete and aggregate industry. As a driver you will: - Ensure the safe and timely delivery of concrete to the customer at the proper slump and to the proper jobsite. - Assure product quality to the best of the driver?s ability. - Communicate mixer/job status to dispatch. - Maintain appearance of truck inside and out. - Perform pre- and post- trip inspections (turned in daily) assuring that the mixer is safe and well maintained. - Assemble concrete chutes where applicable. - Assists in yard functions when needed and performs all duties assigned by management. - Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures. - Comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle. Physical Demands - Ability to climb in and out of truck and up and down ladders. Twisting, turning, and bending over. - Frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs), pulling, pushing, and carrying of accessory equipment used in transportation of concrete. - Must be able to safely operate the truck and its auxiliary equipment such as levers, chutes, and mixing drums. Job Qualifications/Requirements - Must possess a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver?s License (CDL) and have an acceptable driving record. - Must pass DOT drug screen and obtain and maintain a DOT physical card. - Must be able to drive manual transmission commercial vehicles. - Prior mixer driving experience preferred. - Excellent driving skills and professional representation of the company. - Must work effectively and cooperatively with other team members. - Must be courteous and respectful to all customers. - Flexible to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.
