St. Peters Health Peri-Op Float RN - Days, 0.9 FTE in Helena, Montana

JOB SUMMARY: This position provides direct patient care in a clinical outpatient setting working collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary team members under the direction of the Department Director or designee. The nurse reviews the patient’s status related to the planned procedure to include physical parameters, lab values, medication, pre-, intra-, and post-procedure learning needs. The nurse will work collaboratively to resolve identified patient issues in a timely manner and prevent avoidable cancellations and delays in completing ordered procedure. The goal is to promote and restore patient’s health by completing the nursing process through the collection, verification and organization of data, incorporating elements of family-centered care. This position requires planning for care, implementing and assessing the plan, and evaluating their outcomes, which are integral elements of the nursing process. The nurse is responsible for delivering of patient care as it relates to pre-, intra-, and post-endoscopic procedures. Timely and accurate documentation of findings according to hospital policy is required.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years’ experience in Procedurals; Perioperative Services, Endoscopy, Phase 1 and 2 recovery

EDUCATION: Graduate of a Professional School of Nursing.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Current Montana License as a Registered Nurse. CGRN or CPAN required. BLS, ACLS, PALS (within 3 months of hire)

Demonstrated ability to achieve expected organizational behavioral standards. Demonstrated ability to receive feedback and adapt to a quickly changing environment which requires flexibility in scheduling, equipment, and department assignments. Demonstrated ability for interpersonal and communication skills necessary for effective, non-judgmental and empathetic patient care and customer relations. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and be able to contribute to a positive workplace. Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking skills and prioritize multiple tasks to provide optimal patient care. Demonstrated ability and desire to put the patient first above personal needs and beliefs.
