The Material Planner & Buyer is responsible for supporting the supply plans, translating demand into creating orders to support production, including materials management of raw & pack, work-in-process.

Experience with packaging a plus. The role is tasked with building and maintaining strong relationships with operations/ planning, sales and service to manage stock levels, support the schedule and production with operational efficiencies in standard & pre-build business situations.

Responsibilities

  • Order and maintain adequate material volume on-site in advance of production according to upcoming build schedule;

  • Release purchase orders to support upcoming planned production, work-in-process and finished products inventory levels;

  • Support and provide direction regarding material availability or limitations against inventory/production plans and develop action plans to address;

  • Gather necessary resources to address action items and follow up on all material shortage-related issues;

  • Communicates/elevates issues as needed to stakeholders. Actively interact with manufacturing, quality, warehousing & transportation to solve material issues & react to consumption patterns;

  • Follow up on quality issues to drive resolution with supplier and internal team;

  • Support the developing and implementing of commodity strategies within area of responsibility;

  • Frequent data maintenance of parts, vendor, and quality documentation;

  • Special projects and new project development as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of supply chain experience. Similar or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered;

  • Supply and/or Demand planning experience strongly preferred;

  • Work well under pressure with limited supervision, and able to make immediate value based decisions;

  • Able to independently identify, discuss, work out on paper and realize improvement opportunities;

  • Command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing.
