We are currently interviewing for a Heat Treater in Hebron, KY. Bodycote is offering a $1,500 sign-on retention bonus! Bodycote offers: Full-time, 40 hours per week - but we are flexible! Paid holidays and 3 weeks paid time off. 6 am - 2:30 pm Monday - Friday. Summary: Performs essential job functions under moderate supervision to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed. Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.Operates, controls and monitors heat treating equipment as required and written in standard procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.Troubleshooting and repair of vacuum furnaces required i.e. programs, leak testing and repair, pump and motor repairs, heating elements, thermocouple replacements, and other mechanical aspects of furnaces.Performs furnace calibrations and uniformity surveys.Conducts training on furnace operation and best practices for other operators.Serves as plant-wide SME on furnaces & ovens. Ability to program and run multiple different furnace/oven controllers.Bring any unusual problem or irregularity to the attention of a supervisor.Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties safely and responsibly to prevent customer loss or damage.Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Education - High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum 5 to 10 years experience in heat treating with expert-level working knowledge of equipment, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.In-depth familiarity with and experience operating under AMS 2750 & AMS 2769.May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.Will need to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.Knowledge and hands-on experience with computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is preferred, but not required. Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to the following.Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods in an industrial environment.Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, humidity, etc.Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.Ability to hear in person and via phone.
