Position Overview The electrician will work with sawmill equipment to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair the sawmill electrical system and confirm all electrical systems are safe and running efficiently. Inspect and service equipment as needed and perform planned maintenance procedures. Perform required electrical component installations and troubleshooting duties. Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform all necessary repairs. Complete all work orders as required and in a timely manner. Familiarity of PLCs, ability to recognize and adjust sensors, photoelectric eyes, proximity switches and limit switches. Work safely, constantly monitoring the hazardous conditions and risks present in the immediate areas; Understand and follow Lockout Tagout safety procedures; Under and follow all formal safety procedures. Ability to troubleshoot from 24v dc up through 480v 3ph. Ability to troubleshoot motor starter circuits as well as e-stop circuits. Sound understanding of VFD drives and their functionality. Ability to program and commission VFD drives.
