Housekeeping Supervisor (Office)

SUMMARY

The Floor Supervisor in Housekeeping is responsible for supervision of the day-to-day functions of the department ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to the department’s requirements and standards. This role will contribute to the organization as an active business partner that is responsible for supporting the company's goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Major areas of responsibility/ management include, but are not limited to:

  • Thoroughly inspect assigned areas in order to provide feedback to management and associates on the cleanliness and maintenance of those areas against standards.

  • Provide supervision, coaching and training to House Attendants, Public Area Attendants, Turndown Attendants and Room Attendants.

  • When involved in guest room inspections and corrections need to be made, ensure the prompt return of clean rooms to reception for incoming guests.

  • Answering and directing all incoming phone calls in a courteous, efficient manner to ensure ultimate guest satisfaction.

  • Dispatching all internal and external customers and Housekeeping needs to departmental staff.

  • Producing daily assignment sheets and boards.

  • Monitoring and updating room and residential statuses in hotel property management system.

  • Entering and following up on Engineering work orders in Alice Systems.

  • Completing all necessary paperwork and other administrative duties.

  • Assisting in maintaining high morale level in the department by displaying a positive attitude.

  • When involved in guest room inspections ensuring that all guestrooms and areas are cleaned and maintained to hotel standards

  • Maintain inventory and communicate purchasing needs to senior leadership

  • Monitor purchase order statuses through Birchstreet system.

  • Managing out of order/out of service and show rooms.

QUALIFICATIONS

+ + Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English

  • Knowledge of hotel housekeeping operations

  • Knowledge of housekeeping service techniques and cost controls such as manpower, productivity and other expenses

  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

PREFERRED

  • Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred

  • High school or equivalent education

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. Must be able to lift up to 15-40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment.

The pay scale for this position is $26.20

*The pay scale is the base salary or hourly wage range, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, and the like, that Montage reasonably expects to pay for the position.
