The F/A-18 Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) team is seeking Spares Production Technical Integration Lead to support the F/A-18 Complex Spares Program in Hazelwood, MO. This position focuses on delivery of flight control surfaces to keep the F/A-18 fleet operating out to an airframe lifetime of 10,000 hours. This position will coordinate engineering activities in support of in-house production and supplier standup efforts. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to lead teams to a technical consensus.

This is an excellent opportunity for executive level interaction on a program that is considered critical to extension of the F/A-18 service life.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight to a team of technical integrators to ensure performance to plan

  • Coordinate across multiple engineering teams (Design, Strength, M&P, Manufacturing Engineering and Liaison Engineering) tasked with production standups and sustainment at suppliers and various Boeing sites

  • This position directly reports to the F/A-18 SEIT Manager but takes day to day direction from the F/A-18 A-D Sustainment Deputy Chief Engineer

  • Assist engineering teams in the development of plans of action in response to issues encountered in the production standup process

  • Provide oversight of engineering activities to ensure process discipline, adherence to technical requirements, and performance to program commitments

  • Interface with Boeing engineering capabilities, and Boeing Engineering and Program leadership teams

  • Interface with Boeing Suppliers, Supplier Management and Supplier Quality to ensure process discipline, adherence to technical requirements, and performance to program commitments

  • Communicate and bring awareness to risks, and issues within the technical statement of work

  • Communicate recommended actions and risk mitigations to the technical teams and program leadership

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering field

  • 5+ years managing projects, leading teams or project engineering

  • 3+ years of experience in production engineering discipline (strength, liaison, manufacturing, design)

  • 5+ years of tactical aircraft experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • F/A-18 A-D platform experience

  • Familiarity with composite structural analysis

  • Familiarity with manufacturing planning

  • Familiarity with production tooling

  • Familiarity with production processes such as First Article Inspection and Destruct Test Articles

  • Ability to read and interpret legacy 2D drawings and legacy process specifications

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Travel:

Occasional travel (10%) is required in support of the program and customer.

Summary pay range: $140,250 – $189,750
