Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center Pediatric Dentist in Hayward, California

The Pediatric Dentist is responsible for rendering dental care to patients of TVHC. They are further responsible for assuring efficient and adequate patient flow. This includes proper utilization of dental assistants and support staff, and the responsibility to deliver quality dental care to all patients.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday with periodic Saturday hours.

Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center is a non-profit community health center that is dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of our community by providing accessible, high-quality care by integrating primary care, dental care, WIC support, mental health counseling, community health education, and more.

Compensation: $173,326.40K - $189,384.00K annualized, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct patient care in the dental center on a regular schedule and in emergency call situations as directed by the Supervisor

  • Assures adequate supervision of the dental hygienist and assistant staff, while performing dental services.

  • Provides oversight of clinical services to dental hygiene students and dental residents.

  • Cooperates in activities with other operating units of the Health Center (e.g., participation in health fairs, screening activities and community outreach).

  • Assist the Supervisor in planning and implementing new programs for the dental department

  • Responsible for following Health Center protocols and observance of current OSHA requirements and those particular to TVHC.

  • Maintains confidentially regarding privileged, administrative, client information, and Corporate Compliance in a professional manner.

  • Working as a member of the health care team and assisting in the education of patients and the target community in preventive health care and health maintenance concepts.

  • Demonstration of patterns of continued learning in order to ensure growth as a practitioner.

  • Participates in the selection of new personnel and evaluation of existing staff.

  • Assumes other responsibilities at the direction of the Supervisor

  • Performs all duties and service in full compliance with TVHC’s Service Excellence Standards

Requirements

  • Must be in possession of a valid license to practice in the State of California.

  • Minimum 3 years of dentistry experience required.

  • Completion of the curriculum of an approved school of dentistry and possession of a DDS or DMD degree required.

  • DEA license required.

  • Current BLS certification required.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

  • Training/experience in pediatrics is required, as well as a working knowledge of Denti-Cal scope of benefits, and/or dentistry as practiced under a managed care format.

  • Proven ability to work with multi-cultural and diverse client base; sensitivity to socio-cultural issues required.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
